Many families are touched by birth defects, premature births and infant loss. The March of Dimes is here to help more moms have healthy pregnancies, support families in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and fund research to fight premature birth and birth defects.
Unexpectedly, one of our advisors, Michael Donnan, CLTC, and his family are going through a very recent premature birth. Donnan, his wife, daughter and son, are anxiously waiting the moment to bring home their new family member. Baby Donnan was born at 32 weeks (8 weeks early) at 4 lbs/15oz, on May 2, placing him in the moderately pre-term category. He is currently in the ThedaCare NICU with a feeding tube and breathing issues due to under-developed lungs. The little fighter is expected to be under care for up to a month and is thankfully getting better each day.
We know that there are many families near and far who are going through something similar or have gone through an experience like the Donnan family. Know that you are in our thoughts, and we are marching for you too.
