COVID 19 & Safer At Home Order executes AEGIS Financial’s Business Continuity Plan

We are reminded of the reasons for choosing the name “AEGIS Financial” and what it stands for (“your caretaker”). This meaning has been intertwined in our team’s vision, mission and values in how we carry out taking care of you.

We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and how it affects you, our community and the AEGIS Team.  As many of you know Governor Tony Evers has extended the “Safer at Home order” to May 26th. To meet the requirements of this Order as an exempt business, we have made changes to comply.

Our lobby remains closed until the order is lifted; however, a portion of our team is working in the office to continue business as usual.

  1. Paperwork to be returned can be submitted via mail, electronically signed, or placed in our mail slot next to the front doors.
  2. In-person appointments have been changed to phone or Zoom meetings, the firm’s online virtual meeting and conferencing platform.
  3. If an in-person meeting is essential, please call to reschedule to a later date.
  4. A few employees that are at risk or have been displaced due to school/childcare closures, are working remotely. For these team members we have launched our business continuity plan which was established to deal with events like this. This continuity plan not only allows you to connect to your team member seamlessly but also protects your information over encrypted data transfer.

As we all go through this pandemic and as you now have received your March statements, it is important to remember that investing is a long-term proposition and staying with your long-term disciplined plan is paramount as we believe the market will recover.

As advisors we are not idly sitting by waiting for the market to recover. With the market drop there are actions that we are taking to enhance your overall plan. We are reviewing accounts to determine if the following would be beneficial:

  • ROTH Conversions while the market is down allowing recovery tax free
  • Accelerate IRA withdrawals if distributions are being invested in after tax accounts
  • Tax loss Harvesting
  • Buying Opportunities for idle cash
  • Liquidation and reinvestment of Variable Annuity contracts into after tax investments
  • Rebalancing accounts to position for a recovery

Our team is working hard to continue to maintain our values and the high service standards you’ve come to expect from us. We appreciate your patience and ongoing partnership.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27.

We wish your family hope, happiness and health.
