This last quarter Brian Rogers, Advisor at AEGIS Financial shared the story of his journey through cancer and the obstacles he went through. Brian first underwent surgery and then one round of chemotherapy. As the chemotherapy treatment began, Brian experienced what many cancer patients experience, hair loss. Although it was a very tough time for Brian, Brian maintained a positive attitude.
Brian brought to our attention the wonderful project that the Mercy Health Foundation was a few months away from completing, The Oasis. The Oasis is an updated, full service wig boutique for women, children and men who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy or other medical conditions. This “boutique” is where individuals with cancer can find the materials; expertise and support they need to feel good about themselves. Services provided through the boutique will include head shaving in a private, personal environment when hair loss begins, wig fitting and ordering, skin care and make up consultation. This space is a labor of love, made possible through community partnerships and fully funded by philanthropy. No one is turned away.
Our goal for the AEGIS Cares Q1 Giving Plan was to donate $350.00 to The Oasis. We opened our Giving Plan up to our clients and the public. AEGIS Financial announced that they would donate 5% of an individual’s hair service cost to The Oasis. In total our practice donated $468.55 to The Oasis at Mercy Health Foundation! We cannot thank our clients, our community, Trillium Salon and Mane Attraction Salon & Day Spa for your donations. We’re so grateful for those who chose to honor Brian, Brian’s family and those that will be impacted through The Oasis!
In the weeks to come we will announce our AEGIS Cares Q2 Giving Plan! If there are any organizations or causes that you would like us to support, please call Mariah Madell at (920) 233-4650 or email at email@example.com.
